Tishman developed, owned, managed and sold the Westin Rio Mar Beach & Resort hotel. Developed in 1996, the 600-room, hotel & resort (now the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Beach Resort & Spa) is recognized as one of the Caribbean’s premier resorts. The property includes 48,000 square feet of flexible meeting and banquet space including 24 meeting / breakout rooms. The Rio Mar Ballroom, which was the largest hotel ballroom at the time of construction in the Caribbean, encompasses nearly 21,000 square feet and is divisible into 10 separate rooms. The resort offers two 18-hole championship golf courses, a 7,000-square-foot spa, two large oceanfront swimming pools, 13 tennis courts, 10 restaurants & lounges, 50,000 square feet of outdoor event space and a 7,000-square-foot casino. Tishman continued to own and manage the hotel for nearly a decade until it was sold in a joint transaction to Wyndham Worldwide in 2007.
